Measurements constitute a horizontal activity, supporting the research components of the project.
Within the framework of the project, the following measurements were carried out:

  • Wind and solar potential measurements at the installation site of the Hybrid Power Station (HPS).
  • Meteorological measurements within the settlement.
  • Temperature and other parameter measurements inside and outside the buildings where interventions were planned.
  • Power quality measurements on the electrical network.
  • Measurements for the assessment of the District Heating system (DHS) .
  • Studies on the impact of the operation of the HPS and the DHS on power quality.
40 m lattice mast for wind potential
assessment at the wind turbine site
Installation of two 30 m masts for correlating measurements prior to the wind turbine installation, aimed at the detailed study of the local wind flow characteristics

To measure the wind potential and the local meteorological characteristics within the settlement of Agios Efstratios, a fully equipped meteorological station was installed on the roof of the primary school, mounted on a 3 m tubular mast. It is equipped with a cup anemometer, a wind direction sensor, a thermometer, a barometer, a pyranometer, a rain gauge, and a data logger.

As part of the energy upgrade of the buildings in the settlement of Agios Efstratios, energy measurements were carried out during both the winter and summer periods, with the aim of evaluating the planned interventions.
